How It All Started

My passion for recipes began in my grandmother’s sunlit kitchen, where I learned to knead dough and taste-test Sunday dinners. There was always laughter, plenty of flour on the counter, and a sense of togetherness that I wanted to recreate for others. I remember the first time I hosted a brunch for friends—seeing their faces light up over a simple frittata made me realize how special food can be.

What I love most about recipes is their ability to bring people together. Whether it’s a cozy breakfast, a festive dinner, or a sweet dessert, every meal is an opportunity to share, celebrate, and make memories. My larger purpose with Kitchen By Sara is to make cooking approachable, fun, and rewarding for everyone, no matter where they’re starting from.

Starting this blog felt like the natural next step in my journey. I wanted a place to document my favorite creations, share new discoveries, and build a community where everyone feels welcome at the table. With over 12 years of hands-on experience in the kitchen, I’ve cooked, baked, experimented, and sometimes failed—so you don’t have to! My background spans from personal kitchen adventures to formal culinary workshops and training with renowned chefs. I’ve worked as a recipe tester for independent cookbooks, developed meal plans for busy families, and even led local cooking classes.

Quality is my top priority. Every recipe on this site goes through a meticulous process: research, multiple rounds of testing, and honest feedback from my family and friends (they’re my toughest critics!). I only share dishes that I truly love and would serve in my own home.

I’m passionate about food photography and visual presentation. Every photo you see is styled and shot by me, right here in my home kitchen—because I believe you eat with your eyes first. Outside of recipe development, I spend my time exploring new cuisines, visiting farmers’ markets, and reading up on the science of cooking. My ongoing curiosity pushes me to keep learning, experimenting, and bringing fresh ideas to the table.
